Disney World vacation for toddlers

If you are traveling to Disney World and you have a toddler or two in your party you might want to check out renting one of our Disney condos or possibly a townhome near Disney World. Why a townhome or condo? For the same price as a hotel room you and your family can stay in a condo near Disney World and have two or three times more living space.

The condos are great for families with toddlers, because young children often times need to go to bed around 7 or 7:30 and if you stay in a hotel room then the entire family will have to go to bed at that time. If you rent a Disney condo then you will have an extra bedroom where you can set-up their pack and play and lay them down. Now the rest of the family can be in the living room watching TV and as long as everyone is somewhat quite the baby should sleep just fine.

Our Disney condos can be rented for as little as $70 a night for a 2 bedroom 2 bath unit and our 3 bedroom townhomes can be rented for as little as $84 a night. These are great deals and something you might want to check out on your next vacation to Disney World.

Orlando Vacation Homes vs. Orlando Hotels

I just got off the phone with a potential guests, and he was going on about how much of a better deal it is to get a vacation home as it is to rent a hotel room. He asked me why?

The simple answer is that there are nearly as many vacation homes in Orlando as there are hotels rooms, and while hotels have major national chains such as Holiday Inn and Sheraton help fill them up, the vacation home owners do not have such a luxury. Now most of the vacation home owners are big Disney fans, and they use their property three or four times a year. The rest of the time they allow us to rent them out. Their hopes are to have their home cover most of their monthly bills for them.

So why are the vacation homes just now gaining in popularity? Simple, there are not many vacation destinations in America where you can rent a vacation homes. For example, if you wanted to go on vacation to New York, you probably would not find too many vacation rentals at a reasonable price. Another point, we as Americans usually take vacations that range from 3 days to 7 days so most families have just become accustom to cramping in a hotel room and dealing with it for the short amount of time.

If you are reading this blog post then you probably are already thinking about staying in an Orlando vacation home...and I promise you will not be disappointed. The homes are much more spacious than a hotel room, offer a lot more privacy, and they all come with a fully functional kitchen. Oh did I also mention the nightly prices for one of these vacation home is about the same as most three star Orlando hotels.

Disney vacation home vs Disney Townhome

Should you and your family rent a Disney Vacation Home with a private pool or a town home which is located near Disney World. Since every family is different I have listed to pros for each one below:

The Disney Vacation Pool Homes typically are a little larger than a town home and they offer more privacy since you are not connected to another unit.

The town homes offer a little better nightly rate and they offer the same amenities as you would find in a hotel with the concierge service, basketball courts, tennis courts, workout facilities, and free internet.

Either way you can not go wrong with either choice. If you are going to be staying for more than 5 days you might want to opt for the vacation homes since they are a little larger. If you are coming in for a short weekend vacation you can't beat the town homes for comfort and proximity to Disney World.

Disney Vacation Homes Pool Heat

The biggest question we are asked every year is...do we need pool heat? The simple answer is no. Here are 3 reasons why we do not think it is a good idea to heat the pool at your Disney vacation home.
1. The pool's use a small electric heater and they only heat the pool about 10 to 14 degrees higher than it is outside. In addition all the pool homes near Disney have small sensors on the heaters and if the temperature ever drops below 50 degrees they do not turn on.
2. The pools are typically heated for 12 hours a day when the water is being filtered. If the filter is not on then it will heat the pool. Most pools are set to filter the water between 8am til 8pm, and this is when most guests are at Disney World. Once the pool stops filtering then it is not heating the water anymore and the pools start to lose heat really fast.
3. The pool is quite expensive $25 to $30 a day depending upon how large the pool is and this fee is non-refundable.

Generally speaking Orlando's temperature even in January and February reaches 70 to 75 degrees during the day which is definitely warm enough to swim in. You will not need pool heat after March 15 the daily sun will heat the pools warm enough after this date.
